The Meaning of Christmas through the Eyes of the Youth:

Just incase someone out there is thinking that this generation has lost the meaning of what Christmas actually means, here is a group of youth showing that in spite of all the materialism and distractions of Christmas, the main reason for celebrating it today is still Christ:

To me, Christmas is a day of celebration and remembering Christ’s first coming in human form.

It is a time to remember our Saviour’s birth. A time for friends and family. A time to share with others. It’s a time for drawing near to the Lord. It’s a great occasion to remember the Savior’s birth in a special way. Though this is not the only time to remember his birth, but this gives us a time to focus on it.

It is an expression of the love of Christ and the Father to the world and our response to this love as we live in this world as His witnesses.

Christmas for me is a time of reflection of one’s life in the context of God’s plan and purpose and it is also a time of complementing each other with the sentimental carols and songs.

We celebrate the birth of Christ together and that time is very joyful. I am happy and glad during this time. Santa Clause gives gifts to children and I enjoy that.

Christmas for me is a day of my salvation. It reminds me that Christ was born in this world to save me.

Christmas is the most awesome thing in the world. If it wasn’t for Christmas, then we all would be leading very sad and immoral lives. Death would be the final good bye in our lives. There would be no love, just hatred. Without Christmas, life wouldn’t be worth living.

Christmas is a time to have fun… time to have a nice get together with family and friends and celebrate the birth of Christ, our Savior. To celebrate the greatest promised gift ever given to us by God by sending His only Son for our salvation. It’s a time to thank God more and more for His love and to spread His love and happiness. It’s a time to enjoy yummy cake during the holiday season.

To me Christmas’ most impacting aspect is ‘Emmanuel’ – God with us. Specifically, He came to be with me. That God, through Christ came to be near me- to be intimate and personal is really quite astounding. Why He would do such a ludicrous thing is beyond me but He did it. Knowing that He’s with me – that no matter what life brings- I can count on Him – that is reason for jubilation, rejoicing and celebration. That God is with me changes everything.

Christmas to me is a day when you don’t get a seat if you reach late to church. People spend money on unnecessary things when they can help in other meaningful ways. Save trees, save our earth, protect women!
