ANSHUL MULLICK As we go through the turns and toils of Life -we look to the natural resources to overcome situations and sustain self-confidence. Our natural resources are varied but they can be unreliable. If they are friends, they may move away. If its vacation, it may not materialize. If its children, they grow up. If we look to our spouses, which God Himself can only provide, there are bound to be disappointments. There will be times when our spouses are preoccupied with work and we feel neglected and lonely or are tired and irritable leaving us hurt. So, the natural resources definitely have a limitation. But can there be resources eternal, inexhaustible to meet our needs? Sure! THE LIVING WORD OF GOD. What is the Bible to you? This question was recently put to us at a Church service and various answers came up? The responses were varied -Our Sourcebook (a book of laws), Our Comfort (a love letter from God), Our Hope, the power of God to transform etc. The list goes on... But have you ever thought of it this way; it is a written agreement of the covenant between God and us. This is a document to prove to Satan that in sickness, adverse circumstances, etc. we have an agreement with God. This covenant was referred to by Jeremiah in chapter 31: 31-33. People of Israel/Judah, means us. We are the people of Israel. In John 1:12, it says -But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become sons of God, even to those that believe on his name. God’s covenant is not like a marriage certificate, where for the first few months the couple abides by the vows they make at the altar. Soon enough little cracks start setting in and finally in extreme cases they may choose to break this bond with each other. NO! This document by God has been signed with the everlasting blood of Jesus. i.e. there is no going back on what He said; it is valid for ever and ever and ever. The Bible is an affidavit by God to us. An affidavit is a written statement confirming with an oath every promise made. In 2 Cor.1:20, it is written -For all the promises of God in Him are yes and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. This means, it is a done thing. The promises are signed, sealed and delivered to us and so will it be. God is not a liar; he will not go back on his words. Heaven and earth may pass away, but His word will not. There are many, many promises but each of them come with a clause. And that is, we should always strive to walk in His ways, be obedient to Him, and do things that please Him. Not in our own strength, but with His help we can. The Bible is God's power of attorney to us. This means that God has given us the right to do certain things on behalf of him. We can command that cancer to go, etc. We have to act in faith. In Luke 19:13, it says -And he called his ten servants and delivered them ten pounds and said occupy till I come. In other words, reign till I come. In Lk.1 0:19, -Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy and nothing shall hurt you. PS.119:89 -Forever 0 Lord, your word is settled in heaven. Our God cannot and will not go back on his Word. Next time we are driven around by Satan’s foul play; we should combat him with the written Word of God. It is a done deal; Jesus has already fought the battle for us. We don't have to struggle. We just have to remind Satan of what is written in the Bible. So, remember, we hold a very important document in our hands. Let us now write it down word for word in our hearts and not depart from it.
