Activist Sister Valsa John murdered in Jharkhand

Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI), expresses deep grief and strongly condemns the killing of Sister Valsa John, a prominent Human Right activist, who was brutally murdered for her stand against the PANEM coal mines in Pakur District,  Jharkhand.
 
The incident took place on Tuesday, November 15, when some unidentified men entered into her house and murdered her in her sleep. Valsa, a member of the Sisters of Charity Jesus and Mary Congregation had been living in the village for the last 12 years and has been actively involved in the Tribal Rights Issues.

EFI, stands in solidarity and request prayers for the bereaved family of Sister Valsa.

Further, EFI,
appeals to the authorities to take immediate action against the perpetrators of crime and safe guard the rights of the minority communities living in the area.
